“Who cares?” You could say. We will tell you anyway. We are two thirty years old ejits, just married. We come from Italy, near Modena. Stefano pretends to be software engineer and Elisa has a degree in foreign languages. We have been living in Dublin (Ireland) for 3 years now. We like it, we have a good job and good friends as well. We both love traveling, even if it’s more one of Elisa’s passions, together with cooking. Why have we decided to leave everything and find ourselves once again at ground zero (financially speaking)?Good question…A choice like another, or maybe we are afraid of feeling stuck. As Luke Rhinehart says in “The Dice man”: “Life is islands of ecstasy in an ocean of ennui, and after the age of thirty land is seldom seen.” In fact, it’s all Antoine’s fault. He is an ex colleague of Stefano’s who one day left Ireland to travel around the world with his girlfriend. It impressed us and so we started to think about this possibility, not so remote anymore. Here in Ireland is more common to go traveling around the world, but in Italy they either think that you are very very rich or you are crazy. In our case it’s none of the two, above all not the first one. In fact, we hope some of our friends will have a spare room for free for us when we get back, or we will just put a tent in our parents’ garden.
